Welcome, New Staff Members!
Dana Gonzalez, an administrative assistant, supports ChangeLab Solutions’ team of attorneys, drawing on eight years of administrative experience in the nonprofit sector. Before she joined ChangeLab Solutions, Dana worked in operations at one of the largest performing arts centers in the United States. Her work experience also includes administrative positions in property management, accounting, and human resources.
Dylan Prohaska, working as an administrative assistant, partners with our Program team and supports our attorneys. She is passionate about working at the root of systemic issues to improve communities and ensure equity for all. Dylan has a background in alternative dispute resolution and restorative justice practices. She has worked with youth-focused nonprofits on victim-offender dialogue and re-entry prep programs, and she also worked as a coordinator for a range of mediation services.
Iyanrick John is ChangeLab Solutions’ vice president of external affairs. He coordinates development and execution of our organization’s national strategy, builds relationships with external partners, and elevates our national profile. Prior to joining our team, Iyan was a senior policy strategist for the Asian & Pacific Islander American Health Forum, a health policy and advocacy organization. He has also worked as a lecturer in the Department of Public Health at California State University, East Bay, and as a policy analyst for the Office of Minority Health and Health Disparities at the Maryland Department of Health.
Jami Crespo joins ChangeLab Solutions as a senior attorney. In this role, she combines public health, law, policy, and systems change, focusing on the role of health departments and community members in advancing health equity. Previously, Jami spent eight years in local public health as a policy analyst with Public Health Madison & Dane County. She worked to improve health and racial equity by analyzing laws and policies and creating system change in the areas of behavioral health, mental and emotional well-being, and infant mortality. She also helped draft legal orders and guidance related to COVID-19 safety.
Karina Bielecki joins ChangeLab Solutions as an executive assistant, supporting our chief executive officer, Sarah de Guia, and other members of the Executive Department. Prior to joining our organization, Karina supported the executive director and department heads at Mid-America Regional Council, the metropolitan planning organization for the bistate Kansas City region. She also held administrative and clerical positions in a variety of health care settings.
Melinda Rodriguez, an administrative assistant, works closely with many staff members on a diverse range of administrative tasks that support our programs and internal operations. Before she joined ChangeLab Solutions, Melinda worked with Child Care Services Association in the administration of the universal pre-kindergarten program in Durham County, North Carolina, coordinating professional development activities for teachers and providers.
Melissa Marichal Zayas, an attorney, supports local governments, public health professionals, and community organizations in addressing upstream drivers of health through equity-centered law and policy change. Previously, she worked to promote stable, affordable, and healthy housing through policy advocacy, education, and direct representation of tenants. She worked on a legislative campaign to secure the right to counsel for tenants in eviction proceedings, an interactive guide for tenants facing eviction, and advocacy materials on the racially disproportionate impact of evictions and substandard housing.
Rachael Bennett joins us as an administrative assistant, supporting ChangeLab Solutions’ program managers and directors. Rachael is strongly dedicated to serving communities and has worked closely with several nonprofits throughout her career. Prior to joining ChangeLab Solutions, Rachael supported executives and board members to promote health equity. Her background includes work with mental health and community development organizations.
