Prashasti Sanjay Bhatnagar, JD, MPH
Prashasti Sanjay Bhatnagar is an Attorney at ChangeLab Solutions with expertise in health justice, civil rights of health, public health and immigration law, medical-legal partnerships, and legal epidemiology. Her work examines how law functions as a structural determinant of health — both as a mechanism of social control and as a tool for resistance — through interdisciplinary research, legal and policy advocacy, and community power-building.
Before joining ChangeLab Solutions, Prashasti worked as the Health Justice Law Fellow at the Urban Institute–Georgetown Law Project on Health Equity and the Law and as the Law/Public Health Post Doctoral Scholar at Ohio State University. Throughout her career, she has collaborated with a wide range of legal, advocacy, and research partners to help advance health-affirming strategies and futures. Prashasti also served on the Board of Directors for the Midwest Immigration Bond Fund and was the Editor-in-Chief for the Georgetown Immigration Law Journal (Volume 36).
Born and raised in New Delhi, India, Prashasti received her JD from Georgetown Law, her MPH from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, where she also earned a Certificate in Health Disparities and Health Inequalities, and her BS in Sociology, summa cum laude with high distinction from University of Minnesota Twin Cities. She is pursuing a PhD in Sociology at UCLA, where she is a Eugene V. Cota-Robles Fellow.
