New Series: Act for Public Health Briefings

Navigating the impact of federal actions on public health practice

In 2025, we’re living in a rapidly changing health policy environment, and practitioners and advocates are working to navigate the implications for their work in real time. The Act for Public Health partners are hosting a new biweekly forum for timely conversations that explain and interpret the impact of federal actions on state and local public health practice. We’ll discuss subjects such as immigration; LGBTQ+ communities; diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility initiatives; and more.

The Act for Public Health Briefings kicked off on May 14 with the first 30-minute conversation between Sabrina Adler, vice president of law at ChangeLab Solutions, and Joelle Lester, executive director at the Public Health Law Center. They provided an overview of the briefing series, explored the effects of a range of executive actions, and discussed strategy for the current moment.
