Model Ordinance and Guide for Licensing Healthy Food Retailers

A number of cities have established programs to encourage food retailers, especially corner stores, to stock healthier products. To strengthen efforts like these, we developed the Model Licensing Ordinance for Healthy Food Retailers.

It establishes a healthy baseline to improve food quality and accessibility at food stores across an entire community. The accompanying guide describes how the ordinance works and provides tips on how to implement it successfully in your community.
