A webinar on Workplace Policies that Prioritize Maternal and Child Health
The workplace can be a stressor for pregnant women and new mothers if they don't receive the support they need, such as lactation accommodation, pregnancy and prenatal leave, and resources to achieve a work-family fit. This webinar introduces research linking workplace policies to women's health and highlight strategies for making workplaces more supportive and equitable. Learn about workplace policies that support pregnant women and new mothers as well as national trends in supportive workplace policies. They will also hear about an innovative local collaboration that places the health of women front and center.
The presenters are nationally recognized experts on workplace policy and public health. Dr. Erika Sabbath discusses the health impact of workplace policies and practices on pregnant women and new mothers. Dr. Curtis Chan and Sharon Terman describe San Francisco's Healthy Mothers Workplace Initiative, and Sili Recio shares how MomsRising's campaigns push for more supportive workplace policies.
Funding for this webinar is provided in part by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
