Healthier Food For Sale

Healthier Food For Sale

A webinar about finding funding for healthier food options

Advocates are looking for ways to fund projects that will bring healthy food into their communities – from improving corner stores to attracting new grocery stores, farmers’ markets, and mobile food carts. What federal, state, and local agencies can support these efforts?

In this webinar, we discussed how to identify and leverage financing mechanisms to create healthier food options in local communities, and heard from people who have experience launching and sustaining successful projects. Panelists included:

  • Lisa Chen, Planning and Policy Associate, ChangeLab Solutions
  • Julie Curti, Assistant to the Director, USDA Center for Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnership
  • John Fisk, PhD, Director, Wallace Center at Winrock International and HUFED
  • Christine Fry, Policy and Program Associate, ChangeLab Solutions
  • Leana Nakielski, Development Manager, Growing Power
  • Kristen Markley, National Farm to Institution Program Manager, Community Food Security Coalition (CFSC)

This webinar was cosponsored by the Community Food Security Coalition and the Healthy Corner Stores Network.
